Rodney Lynn Winn passed away on March 22, 2026, peacefully at home with his family by his side in Eureka, Kansas.
He was born on September 9, 1962, to Richard and Sharon (Watts) Winn in Eureka, Kansas. Rodney attended Eureka High School, where his love of football grew, and graduated in 1980. After high school, Rodney pursued higher education at Emporia State University. Following his college degree in Business Administration, he established a successful career in several businesses, including Quick Trip, McDonald’s, and Sears Auto.
On April 23, 1988, Rodney was united in marriage to Debbie Buffington of Eureka, Kansas. They were blessed with a daughter, Kerissa. The marriage later ended in divorce in 2000.
Rodney is survived by his daughter Kerissa Winn, her fiancé Trevor Smalley, and their eight daughters (Rod’s grandchildren) Ryleigh Smalley, Reganne Smalley, Brielle Thompson, McKena Smalley, Talynn Rickman, Harper Rickman, Harper Smalley and Kemeny Smalley; his mother, Sharon Hellman; brothers, Ricky Winn, Ronnie Winn, and Lee Hellman; and sister, Lisa (Hellman) McDonald.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Winn, and sister, Rochelle Winn.
A Celebration of Life will be held at VFW Post 2712, located at 112 W. 2nd St., in Eureka on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
