Wrestlers from the Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) and Elk County Wrestling (ECW) programs delivered strong performances at the USAKansas Kids State tournament this weekend in Topeka, highlighted by multiple podium finishes and competitive showings across several age divisions.
EWC was led by high school heavyweight Killian Harrington and Maelyn Vinson, 8U/110, both placing second in their divisions.
Harrington battled through a tough bracket to earn a second-place finish in the 285-pound division. Harrington’s run included several tightly contested matches as he worked his way into the championship round.
Vinson put together an impressive tournament performance, advancing through the bracket to secure a spot in the finals.
Several other Eureka wrestlers turned in strong efforts as well. Adleigh Ray competed in the 14U/115-division, while Lakyn McCoy wrestled in the 14U/148 bracket, with both athletes recording multiple wins during the event. In the 8U/70 division, Oaklyn Smith gained valuable experience while competing in a competitive field.
ECW also had a strong presence at the tournament, led by Kyler Wunderlich, who earned a third-place finish in the 12U/215 division and Emma Baumgartel, who placed fourth in the high school girls 115-pound division.
Other ECW wrestlers competing included Skylee Edwards in the 8U/55 division, Pyper Ford in the 12U/130 division, Lakin Love in the 14U/120 bracket and Raylan Wunderlich in the 12U/190 division.

Eureka Club Wrestling HS Boys - 285: Killian Harrington placed 2nd. He won a 7-0 decision over Oliver Pacha, MARY; won a 2-1 decision over Leifr Zamora, KCWC; won a 3-2 ultimate tie-breaker decision over Andy Garcia, DERB; and lost by fall to Camdon Jackson, OSIN (F 0:26).
8U Girls - 110: Maelyn Vinson placed 2nd. She won by fall over Kinsley Hammer, BWC (F 0:51); won a 2-1 decision over Ianiya Mayes, DERB; won an 8-4 decision over Serenity Alexander, MAC; and lost a 3-12 decision to Maylee Bueno, ULYS.

14U Girls - 148: Lakyn McCoy won by fall over McKinley Bowe, JACO (F 0:53); lost a 0-6 decision to Aria Cordes, GACI; won a 5-0 decision over Marley Luke, CHAP; and lost by fall to Teagan Bright, FEWC.
Elk County Wrestling HS Girls - 115: Emma Baumgartel placed 4th. She won by fall over Dixie Heins, TBW (F 4:16); won a 9-8 decision over Jessica Berg, SKWC; lost a 0-16 tech fall to Kaira Acosta, GACI (2:56); won by fall over Annabella Ackerman, DKWC (F 1:51); and lost a 3-7 decision to Graysea Gardenhire, CLYO.
8U Girls - 55: Skylee Edwards lost by fall to Lynea Barber, TBW (F 0:46); won by fall over Arabella Derhammer, WKM (F 2:00); and lost a 6-11 decision to Gracelyn Wolfe, FEWC.
12U Girls - 130: Pyper Ford won a 6-2 decision over Autumn Uhler, TRAI; lost a 3-19 tech fall to Chandler Gilbert, TELI (3:16); and lost a 0-15 tech fall to Kynley Durossette, FSWC (3:52).
14U Girls - 120: Lakin Love lost by fall to Lahna Passmore, CHCO (F 1:02); and lost by fall to AnnJessa Eisenhour, SCCI (F 1:05).
12U Boys - 190: Raylan Wunderlich lost by fall to John Massieon, WAME (F 2:35); won by fall over Anthony Wake, TWC (F 0:56); and lost by fall to Hudson Finney, BELO (F 2:22).
12U Boys - 215: Kyler Wunderlich placed 3rd. He won by fall over Caleb Goltz, TRAI (F 2:26); won by fall over Remy Webb, RUSS (F 2:26); lost by fall to Wade Bell, CSTC (F 1:30); won by fall over Isaiah Scott, TWC (F 0:47): and won by fall over Carver Eisenbarth, AUGU (F 0:57).
