WELCA met on March 5 at the Christ Lutheran Church Bell Tower Room. Joni Booth called the meeting to order and Amy Schouten gave devotions about “Stages of Love.”
Seven members answered roll call with a Bible verse.
Sue Erickson read the minutes of Feb. 5.
Rene Wiggins gave the treasurer’s report.
Thank you notes were read from Greenwood County Ministerial Alliance, ELCA, Mosaic and SHP for donations.
Margaret Spires showed appreciation to members for visits, cards, gifts and prayers since her surgery and birthday.
Reports were made on Fat Tuesday Supper and Christ Kids attendance.
Discussion was held on the final plans for the David Shaw memorial service and luncheon and Easter Sunday.
Pastor Sue Ellen Forbes gave the program on Women: Women of the Bible: Esther, Ruth, Mary Magdalene; Famous Women: Helen Keller, Amelia Earhart, Annie Oakley; and Eureka WELCA women sharing all their love, talent and faith.
The leaders for the April 2 meeting are devotions, Sue Erickson; program, Wiggins; and refreshments, Spires.
The meeting adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer. Booth served refreshments.
