President Dallas Luthi called the Feb. 25 special meeting of the Madison/ Virgil USD 386 Board of Education to order at 7:30 a.m.
Roll call was answered by D. Luthi, Justin Isch, Amy Hind, Jannette Luthi, Shane Watts and Jennifer Watts. Also attending was Dallas Woolf. Ty Gaines was absent.
Superintendent Woolf presented correspondence from Mrs. Linda Volkman, Cheer coach at Lyndon High school. She shared that two Madison cheerleaders joined Lyndon’s home side during halftime to support the Lyndon cheerleaders and was impressed with how they represented both their school and community.
Watts made a motion to go into executive session with Board and Administration for 10 minutes to discuss personnel matters according to the non-elected personnel exception under KOMA, to discuss an individual employee’s performance, with the open meeting to resume at 7:45 in the board room. J. Luthi seconded the motion. Motion carried. 6 yes, 0 no.
J. Luthi made a motion to accept the resignation of Gavin Isch effective at the end of the 25-26 school year. Shane Watts seconded the motion. Motion carried. 6 yes, 0 no.
Board members expressed their appreciation for Mr. Isch’s service as Ag Education instructor and FFA sponsor, noting that he has done an outstanding job and has made meaningful contributions to the entire school community.
Watts made a motion to approve Allison Arment as Ag Education teacher for the 20262027 school year. J. Luthi seconded the motion. Motion carried. 6 yes, 0 no.
J. Luthi made a motion to adjourn. Isch seconded the motion. Motion carried. 6 yes, 0 no. Meeting was adjourned at 7:47 a.m.
