(Editor’s Note: Letters to the Editor are published to encourage our readers to express their views about various issues. The following letter(s) were submitted and signed by those voicing their opinions through the “Letter To The Editor” section) On Friday, Feb 27, 2026 about 4PM, my husband and I went to LoMar Drive-In in Eureka, KS and ordered 2 vanilla malts 'with lots of malt!' There was only one employee working; a young man with a great head of black hair. Sure enough, he made our malts per request with 'lots of malt!' We expressed how good they were, and he asked if there was too much malt. We told him 'no way, they were perfect!' He smiled a smile of satisfaction! We left with our excellent malts and sat in our vehicle in their parking lot drinking our malts when a big pickup truck pulled in.
The gentleman in the truck obviously had mobility issues as we watched him attempting to get out of his truck with a very tall cane-like stick. After several minutes, he managed to get the left side of his body out, but he was having a great deal of trouble putting any weight on his right foot even with the assistance of the cane. Just about the time my husband was getting out to offer him help, the young man working at Lo-Mar walked out to assist him. The gentleman got back in the truck and the employee left and returned with a menu. He went back in the store and showed up a few minutes later to take the man's order, went back inside, cooked his food, delivered the food to the man in his truck, took his money, went back inside and finally returned to the truck with the man's change! UNBELIEVABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE from that young man at Lomars! He deserves praise and recognition!!!
