The Elk County Commission meets weekly on Mondays at 1 p.m. The following report was generated from the approved minutes of the Feb. 9 meeting, which were approved at a recent meeting.
Elk County Commissioners called their monthly meeting to order on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. The Jan. 26 regular meeting minutes and the Feb. 3 special meeting minutes were approved as presented.
During department reports, Commissioners approved to hire Mallery Swingle and Angela Wilson as EMTs, both at $15 per hour, and Kathryn Williams as an AEMT at $16.50 per hour.
Erica Cordell with Emergency Management reported on meetings she attended, the Stop the Bleed training that she held and the monthly siren test. Cordell informed the
commission that the Storm Spotters meeting will be held on March 5 at the Cox Building.
Don Sanders with Public Works noted that Kylie Bougher was hired for the Road and Bridge department. He also reported on the department had done lots of tree trimming and sign repairs the last couple of weeks.
Community Development gave a report on the environmental study done at 1285 Evergreen, the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge and the mobile food bank.
Commissioners held an executive session for legal matters with County Counselor Paul Dean and Todd Winscher with Rural Fire for 14 minutes. After returning to open session, no decisions were made.
Warrants in the amount of $262,061.53, Payroll in the amount of $318,424.66 and abatements were approved as presented.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:49 p.m. The next meeting of the Elk County Commission will be held on March 9 at 1 p.m.
