Well, February is almost over. Will March come in like a lion? However it chooses to come in, it is only 22 days until Spring. That’s as of Friday.

What is the meaning of the phrase “Deadline” as in ‘meet a deadline?’

I have some yellow crocus up in my yard, I hadn’t even thought to start looking for such signs of Spring. Don’t know why just hadn’t. I usually enjoy looking for those early signs of Spring. This is a great time of year. Everything is blooming or budding out; the renewal of life that Spring brings.

We offer our sympathy to the family and friends of Ronnie Weide. We offer our sympathy to all others who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

Answer: These days, “deadline” means you’re rushing to finish your taxes or meet your grandson’s birthday RSVP. But during the Civil War, it was a deadly serious term. Prison camps had an actual line drawn in the dirt - step past it, and guards had permission to shoot without warning. I noticed they started working on the new road bed that will be on each side of Cedar Creek bridge. After they get the road bed built up they will pave it. They were loading up a crane and concrete forms the other day also. It’s getting closer to being done. By Summer it should be complete.
