Eureka senior Brenna Rucker etched her name into the record books last week, surpassing the 1,000-point mark in her high school basketball career.
Rucker entered Monday night’s road game against Olpe with 999 career points and wasted no time reaching the milestone, scoring early in the contest to push her total past 1,000. The achievement marked a significant moment in an already impressive career, highlighting her consistency, scoring ability, and leadership on the court.
Due to injury, Rucker missed nearly a year of action; however, has still recorded 1,061 points thus far in her career, as of last Friday.
On Tuesday, Feb. 3,, Rucker was recognized for the accomplishment in front of the home crowd prior to the game against Chase County. The pregame recognition celebrated not only the milestone itself, but the hard work and dedication that led her there.
Rucker has signed to play with the Lions at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. next fall.
