Eureka seniors Owen Morris and Rose Buck were crowned as the 2026 Eureka Junior/Senior High School King and Queen during the Winter Royalty event last Friday, Jan. 30.
During halftime of the boys game, senior candidates were introduced with Morris being named King and Buck being named this year’s Queen.
Morris is the son of Timothy Morris of Eureka and Valerie Morris of rural Eureka. Buck is the daughter of Dan and Pam Buck of Eureka.
Other members of the Winter Royalty court were: for King, Noah Rippy, Nathaniel “Nate” Clark, Kaleb Hollis and Davian Damron; and for Queen, Taryn Burk, Miley Baumgartel, Brooklyn Ogden and Ava Noble.
Crown bearers for the event were Marshall Elementary first graders Lincoln Treece and Nora Whittaker. They were escorted by 2025 EHS Winter Royalty King Cody Lewis and Queen Chloe (Boyer) Lewis.
The Tornado basketball teams split with the Yellowjackets of Fredonia,with the Lady Tornadoes claiming the win last Friday night. The boys fell by three in overtime.

A Winter Royalty dance was held following the basketball games, and concluded the festivities.
