To Represent Hamilton USD 390 At County Spelling Bee
Hamilton Students Claim Honors At District Bee

Six Hamilton USD 390 students advanced to the Greenwood County Spelling Bee this week, after qualifying for the event during their district spelling bee last week.

Hamilton sixth grader Henry Stitt won top honors after six rounds of spelling, when he spelled “reputation” as the final word. Also advancing to the county bee included seventh grader Madeline Ashlock, fifth grader Katelyn Nutsch, sixth grader Damon Austin, fifth grader Kolten Morton and eighth grader Brody Greenwood.

The Greenwood County Spelling Bee is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m., and will be held at Marshall Elementary School in Eureka.

Also qualifying for the event are: from Eureka: Francis Baxter, Tad Gulick, Autumn Ryan, Kolby VanPool, Hunter Michael, Donovan Owings, Bryson Gilbert, and Tanner Wade; and from Madison: Laikyn Henke, Ellie Preeo, Logan Fankhauser, Elaina Castaneda, Brynn Hamilton, Hadley Fox, Emily Thompson and Stockton Seaton.

The Champion speller will advance to the Sunflower State Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 21, at Kansas Wesleyan University
