Winter Royalty To Be Crowned Friday, Jan. 30

This next week, students at Eureka Junior/Senior High School (EJSHS) will participate in winter royalty festivities. This year the theme for the annual event is “The Musical.” Each day the students dress up according to a specific holiday. The days are as follows: Monday- Once Upon a Mattress: PJS; Tuesday- Wicked: Pink v. Green; Wednesday- High School Musical: Jerseys; Thursday- Mary Poppins The Musical: Anything but a Backpack; Friday- Hamilton: USA, Founding Father, ect. Students at Marshall Elementary School are also encouraged to participate in the dress-up days listed above.

Students that are in grades nine through twelve recently selected the following students for Winter Royalty King and Queen candidates. The following candidates were selected: for Queen, Miley Baumgartel, Rose Buck, Taryn Burk, Ava Noble and Brooklyn Ogden; and for King, Nate Clark, Davian Damron, Kaleb Hollis, Owen Morris and Noah Rippy.

This year’s winter royalty crown bearers are Nora Whittaker and Lincoln Treece, both 1st graders at Marshall Elementary School, in Eureka.

The Winter Royalty King and Queen will be named in a special ceremony during halftime of the boys basketball game, next Friday, Jan. 30. Eureka basketball teams will be facing the Yellowjackets of Fredonia.

Students in grades nine through twelve are also invited to attend the winter royalty semi-formal dance, which will be held from 9:30 – 11:30 p.m., in the Tornado Activity Center (TAC).
