It sure got cold over the weekend. We got a little snow, not very much though. You could see it falling but there didn’t appear to be any accumulation until you looked just right. The valleys on rooftops showed signs of the dusting of snow.
Went to Eureka the other day and saw a Bald Eagle about 1 1/2 miles west of Neal. Just sitting there at the edge of the field not a care in the world.
Speaking of Eagles; did you see the story on the news about the leucistic eagle in Stella, Mo.? Beautiful bird. The question for this week is: what does “Leucistic” mean?
Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

Answer: Leucistic is a lack of color or pigmentation. It is different than “albinism” in that it is a partial loss of pigmentation or color. Albinism is a total loss of color or pigmentation. With leucisticism, the color is very faded, washed out like a pair of blue jeans.
A new crew has been hard at work determining what needs to be done and where on the water line project that was started and never finished. I don't know that there’s anything worse than picking up on a project that someone started and didn’t finish, whatever the reason.
We had a water line break on the north side of our house next to the street. There’s a big hole with a yellow construction fence around it as well as a small John Deere track-hoe sitting alongside the street.
There have been so many water line breaks through the years, it will be nice when they get this project completed. I'm sure the city employees will be happy also.
