The Bulldogs of Madison traveled to Burlingame last Friday, Jan. 16, where both teams fell to Burlingame.
Madison’s Lady Bulldogs trailed 8-14 after the first and were only able to add one basket in the second. Madison trailed 10-31 at the break. The Lady Bulldogs outscored Burlingame in the third quarter, 10-9, but went 6-13 in the final stanza, and lost the game 26-53. Scoring for Madison were Caylin Luthi 10, Jenna Thomsen 5, Rylee Darbro 4, Kam White and Molly Dannels each with 3 and Sadie Albert 1.
The Madison boys trailed 9-13 after the first and 16-- 27 at the break. The Bulldogs went 13-16 to Burlingame in the third but trailed by 14 going into the final quarter. Both teams recorded 15 points in the fourth, with Madison losing the game, 44-58. Scoring for Madison were Octavian Dean 22, Javier Alba Mendez 7, Lane Smith 6 and Brayden Grimmett, Cory Yowell and Cooper Luthi all with 3.
Northern Heights
On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the Bulldogs hosted Northern Heights, where the girls fell 34-49. Scoring for Madison were Caylin Luthi 26, Albert 10, Dannels 8, Darbro and Bayleigh Benjamin each with 2 and White 1.
The Madison boys defeated Northern Heights 61-39. Scoring for Madison were Dean 25, Grimmett 17, Alba- Mendez 8, Cooper Luthi 6 and Smith 5.
The Bulldogs will compete in the LCL Tournament Jan. 26-31 in Emporia.
