The Howard City Council held their regular meeting on Dec. 15, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. The council approved the minutes from the Dec. 1, 2025 meeting.
The council also approved bills, totaling $64,349.93; outstanding December bills before the January meeting for accounting purposes and approved the 2026 Cereal Malt Beverage license for Sweet & Spicy.
The council also approved the following Howard Housing Authority Board of Commissioners: Rodney Indermill expiring on July 31, 2029 and Patty Wiseman expiring Nov. 30, 2029.
Councilmembers approved to get front tires, an oil change, an alignment and seat covers for the Water Utility truck.
The council discussed PWWSD#23 meeting minutes; upcoming tower space lease contract renewal was sent to the County Attorney for review; C&D illegal dumping was resolved with the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks ticketing the responsible party and the alley still being blocked behind the Historic Bank Building with the clerk to discuss the issue with the Elk County Preservation Society.
It was also noted that the newly elected Council Members will take office at the Jan. 19 meeting and will be sworn in at or before that date. The meeting was adjourned at 8:17 p.m. The next meeting of the Howard City Council will be held on Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
