The Madison Bulldogs resumed action last week facing off against Marais Des Cygnes Valley (MdCV) and Olpe. Madison’s boys claimed both victories for the week.
On Friday, Jan. 9, the Bulldogs battled MdCV, and Madison faced Olpe on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
Against MdCV
Madison Ladies hung with MdCV in the first half leading 14-13 after the first and being within two at halftime, 23-25. The Lady Bulldogs struggled in the second half, only scoring 6 points in the next two quarters. Madison lost the game, 29-48. Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Caylin Luthi 14, Sadie Albert 9 and Kam White and Bayleigh Benjamin each with 3.
The Madison boys defeated MdCV, 73-46. Unofficial scorers were as follows: Brayden Grimmett 23, Octavian Dean 13, Cooper Luthi and Lane Smith each with 9, Corey Yowell 7, Javi Alba-Mendez, 6 and Colter Luthi, Cooper Boone and Jaxson Davies all with 2.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled against the Eagles, but managed to outscore the Eagles in one of the four quarters. Madison trailed 9-15 after the first, but had their best quarter in the second, outscoring the Eagles 10-7. After the break, the Lady Bulldogs weren’t able to get more than 3 points to fall and trailed 22-37 going into the final quarter. The Lady Bulldogs fell to Olpe, 30-46. Scoring for Madison were Caylin Luthi 13, Rylee Dabro 8, White 5, and Albert and Benjamin each with 2.
Madison boys beat Olpe, 49-46. Unofficial scorers were as follows: Dean 18, Grimmett 12, Alba-Mendez 11, Smith 4, Yowell 3 and Colter Luthi 1.
