Elk County Cobras (ECC) wrestling team had a busy week last week competing at two tournaments and a mixer.
Circle Classic
Members of the ECC traveled to Towanda on Sunday, Jan. 4 for the annual Circle Classic. Following are the individual wins for the Cobras.
6U Girls 55-60: Skylee Edwards placed 1st. She received a bye; won by fall over Blake Patton (CYWC) (Fall 0:07); won by fall over Carter McEachern (Newton) (Fall 1:16); and won by fall over Payten Johnson (Garden Plain) (Fall 2:00).
14U Girls 117-125: Lakin Love placed 2nd. She won a 9-0 major decision over Izabel Kohls (Augusta); won a 14-1 major decision over Praisley Good (Grizzlies); and won a 21-0 tech fall over Sidney Adams (Smoky Valley).
8U Girls 45-50: Brooklyn Lind placed 2nd. She won a 14-11 decision in sudden victory - 1 over Lux Willhite (Bluestem); and won by fall over Taya McQuitty (WTC) (Fall 0:44).
8U Girls 55-60: Chevy Andrews placed 2nd. She won a 7-3 decision over Camila Puentes (Team Haysville); won a 5-3 decision over Veronica Garza (Jaguar); and won a 14-1 major decision over Freya Halverson (Augusta).
12U Girls 100-110: Autumn Love placed 4th. She won by fall over Bristol Shamburg (Winfield) (Fall 0:28); and won by forfeit over Autumn Ecret (Cherryvale).
12U Girls 140-150: Pyper Ford won an 18-3 tech fall over Delaney Burgess (South Central punishers).
6U Boys 40A: Jayce Baumgartel placed 4th.
6U Boys 55C: Alden Ford placed 4th. He won a 5-1 decision over Nash Wilson (Augusta); and won a 10-2 major decision over Abram Fisher (Garden Plain).
12U Boys 88: Maverick Ford placed 3rd. He won by fall over Samuel Becker (Jaguar) (Fall 0:27); won by fall over Mason Lopez (Maize) (Fall 1:29); and won by fall over Jackson Mann (WTC) (Fall 1:32).
12U Boys 130: Taybor Galvan placed 5th.
Crusader Clash
ECC traveled to Wichita on Saturday, Jan. 3 for the annual Crusader Clash. Following are the individual wins for the Cobras.
6U Boys 55D: Alden Ford placed 2nd. He won an 11-1 major decision over Mateo Banuelos-Lopez (Independent Panthers); and won by fall over Liam Foster (Wichita Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:39).
6U Girls 55: Skylee Edwards placed 1st. She won a 7-6 decision over Brynna Rosenhamer (Kingdom Training Grounds); won by fall over Nora Ratzlaff (Hesston) (Fall 0:58); won by fall over Maren Mooney (Wichita Wrestling Club) (Fall 2:58); won by fall over Blake Patton (CYWC) (Fall 0:11); and won a 16-2 major decision over Dre Stupka (MAC).
8U Girls 50: Brooklyn Lind placed 3rd.
