The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) urges sober driving this holiday season, one of the deadliest times on Kansas roads.
As part of the national safety campaign “Taking Down DUI,” which runs from Dec. 26 through Jan 2, drivers can expect increased law enforcement presence. Seventeen people died in traffic crashes between Dec. 18, 2024, and Jan. 1, 2025, with drugs or alcohol involved in 32 crashes that resulted in 26 injuries.
