Area churches have planned events to observe the celebration of the birth of Christ this holiday season. The public is invited to attend the church or churches of their choice and hear the Christmas story as it is related through scripture. All are welcome to attend services. Those attending do not have to be members of any of the churches.
Christ Lutheran Church & Upper Fall River Church On Wednesday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church at 6:30 p.m. Special music will begin at 6 p.m.
Church of the Nazarene The Church of the Nazarene in Severy will be having a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. for anyone who would like to join.
Climax UMC
A candlelight Christmas Eve service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24. A bake sale will follow the service.
Greenwood County Catholic Churches
On Wednesday, Dec. 24, “Christmas-The Nativity of Our Lord” will be held at 5 p.m. with Mass, at St. Teresa, in Madison; and at 7 p.m. with Mass, at Sacred Heart, in Eureka.
Special mass will be held on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25 at 9 a.m., at St. John, in Hamilton and at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart, in Eureka.
Eureka UMC
On Wednesday, Dec. 24: Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m.
Jefferson Street Baptist Church
On Wednesday, Dec. 24, from 6-7 p.m., JSBC will host Christmas Eve Service.
Neal UMC
The Neal United Methodist Church will have a Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 4 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Lawrence.
Neal Evangelical Free Church
