More than 50 graduating nursing students receive ceremonial pins EL DORADO - Butler Community College’s nursing department celebrated 57 new graduates at their bi-annual Nurses Pinning Ceremony at the El Dorado Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025.
Associate Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Janet Schueller opened the ceremony by explaining the significance of the pin itself. “The nursing pin is a reminder, a symbol, of the hard work and dedication required to complete your nursing education. In the pin, you will see symbols representing valor, truth, being light to others, power, protectiveness, flexibility, and resilience,” said Schueller.
Ten graduates also completed Butler’s special partnership program with the University of Kansas, simultaneously earning their associate degree from Butler and their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from KU.
Among the graduates were Michelle Scott of Eureka.
