The West Elk Patriot wrestling teams traveled to Erie on Tuesday, Dec. 9 for dual action against the Red Devils and Yellowjackets of Fredonia.
Against Erie, the Patriots lost 12-30 as team. Both teams were open in the 106, 126, 144, 150, 157, 175 and 215 weight classes. The Patriots lost by default in the 120 and 138 weight classes.

132: Noah Estrada lost by fall to Mark Tenebro (Erie HS / St. Paul HS) Fall 0:19.
165: Corbin Arbuckle lost by fall to Devin Vogel (Erie HS / St. Paul HS) Fall 1:09 190: Landon Wunderlich won by fall over Davey White (Erie HS / St. Paul HS) Fall 0:28.
285: Edward Metcalf (Howard-West Elk HS) won by default.
The Patriots tied with Fredonia at 18. Both teams were open in the 106, 120, 126, 138, 150, 157, and 215-pound weight classes. The Patriots lost by default in the 144-pound class.

Lady Patriot wrestling was able to dual with Erie with both teams being open in all but one weight class. Lady Patriot Maggie Humphrey faced Madison Cope from Erie/St.Paul, losing the dual by fall in 0:38, giving Erie a 6-0 team win.
