Grain Engulfment Rescue Training Held Over The Weekend

Members of the Eureka Fire Department (EFD) and Greenwood County Fire Divisions were able to put equipment to work over the weekend as a special Grain Engulfment Rescue training was held on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the EFD training grounds.

“The training course provided the knowledge and skills required to perform a Grain Engulfment Rescue and addressed the removal/ rescue from grain bins and hoppers, grain bin cutting procedures, entrapment prevention, and hazards of working in and around grain storage facilities” stated EFD Chief Luke Westerman.

The training included classroom and hands-on training.
