Greenwood County 4-H Council

The bi monthly Greenwood County 4-H Council meeting was held on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Greenwood County Courthouse. The group had a successful steak sandwich lunch sale on Cattlemen’s Day. The deadline for the Kansas Scholarship was moved up and is due Jan. 5. 4-H Club days will be held Feb. 21 at Hamilton High School. Regional Club Days will be in Madison on March 28. Enrollment closes Jan. 2 at 4:30 p.m. for returning members and it closes May 1 for new members.

For those eligible to compete, Regional record books due to the Extension Office by Jan. 12. Fair design ideas are due to the office by Feb. 6. The theme for this year is “Prairie Nights and Fair Lights.” Trophy donor deadline is April 1. Beef weigh-in is tentatively March 20 and small animal weigh-in April 18.

Clinton Laflin was hired as the new Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent. He will start on Jan. 5.

The group had Officer Elections. New officers are President Sydney Lindamood; Vice President Hannah Perrier; Secretary Addison Westerman; Treasurer Lylly Stapleford; Reporter Jersey Cox and Parliamentarian: Eli Mason.

The next bi-monthly meeting will be held Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. at the courthouse.
