Bulldog Basketball Dominate Over Patriots & Wildcats
The Bulldogs of Madison dominated on the court during their opening week of the 2025-26 season. The teams swept both the Patriots of West Elk and the Wildcats of Yates Center last week, to enter week two of action with a 2-0 record.

The Madison Bulldogs swept the Patriots of West Elk on Tuesday, Dec. 2 The Lady Bulldogs had their lowest scoring quarter to start the game but still claimed a 7-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. Madison would score double digits in the next three quarters and outscored the Lady Patriots 38-20. The Lady Bulldogs won the game 45-24. Scoring for Madison were Sadie Albert 17, Caylin Luthi 15, Rylee Darbro 9, Rylee Watts 3 and Bayleigh Benjamin 1. Scoring for the Lady Patriots were E. Mott 9, L. Triboulet and A. Avalos each with 6, A. Denton 2 and S. Bahr 1.
The Madison Bulldogs also dominated over the Patriots, scoring double digits in all four quarters. The Bulldogs led 20-11 after the first, 36-20 at half and 57-30 after three. Madison won the game 7036. Scoring for Madison were Octavian Dean 26, Javi Alba Mendez 17, Brayden Grimmett 10, Corey Yowell 8, Cooper Luthi 5 and Lane Smith and Cooper Boone each with 2. Scoring for the Patriots were Fechter 17, Jaxson Bogdahn and Hobbs each with 4, Moreno and Wehling 3 each, Toon and Jared Tucker each with 2 and Jayton Bogdahn 1.
At Yates Center
Madison continued their domination on Friday, at Yates Center.
Lady Bulldogs started the night off with a 12-6 lead over the Wildcats. Both teams scored 9 points in the second, but the Lady Bulldogs pulled away in the second half to claim a 51-35 victory. Scoring for Madison were Caylin Luthi 20, Albert 10, Kam White 7, Darbro 5 and Morgan Weakley, Molly Dannels and Watts all with 3.
The Madison boys again scored double digits in all four quarters, while holding Yates Center to just 33 points. The Bulldogs led 18-11 after one, 28-16 at the intermission and 40-24 going into the final stanza. Madison won the game 5233. Scoring for Madison were Grimmett and Dean each with 16, Mendez 8, Yowell 6 and Lane Smith and Cooper Luthi each with 3.
