Eureka High School Basketball v. Sedan

The Eureka High School boys lost to the Sedan Blue Devils Friday night, Dec. 5, to open their season. The Tornadoes played well at times but struggled with the quicker Sedan squad.

The game began with a tight first half, with both teams trading shots and playing tough defense.

In the second half, however, the Tornadoes struggled, especially in the third quarter.

They surrendered 21 points to the Blue Devils while scoring only 11 themselves, which turned a one-point halftime deficit to 11 points. The Tornadoes turned the ball over 27 times and rebounded poorly throughout the game.

The Tornadoes had a balanced offensive attack, as shown in the scoring. Junior Tyson Coon led with 15 points. Senior Cole Ptacek added 11. Junior Kotah Davis and sophomore Brody Mitchell put in 10 points each. Junior Cooper Roberson and freshman Wacey Ross each had 2 points. Senior Davian Damron added a free throw to complete the scoring for the Tornadoes.
