Special Church Events Planned For Christmas

Area churches have planned events to observe the celebration of the birth of Christ this holiday season. The public is invited to attend the church or churches of their choice and hear the Christmas story as it is related through scripture. All are welcome to attend services. Those attending do not have to be members of any of the churches.

Eureka United Methodist Church

Celebrate Peace, Love, Joy & Hope at the Advent Services Sundays, Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14, and 21 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Fellowship Coffee.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, the EUMC will host a free “Breakfast with Santa event from 8-10 a.m.

On Sunday, Dec. 14, the Kid’s Club will sing during worship.

On Wednesday, Dec. 24: Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m.

Neal United Methodist Church The Neal United Methodist Church will have a Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 4 p.m., with Pastor Kevin Lawrence.

Greenwood County Catholic Churches

Greenwood County Catholic Churches will offer several Holy Day and Christmas masses in the coming weeks.

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception will be held on Monday, Dec. 8, at 5:30 p.m. with Mass, at St. Teresa, in Madison and at 7 p.m. with Mass, at Sacred Heart, in Eureka.

On Wednesday, Dec. 24, “Christmas-The Nativity of Our Lord” will be held at 5 p.m. with Mass, at St. Teresa, in Madison; and at 7 p.m. with Mass, at Sacred Heart, in Eureka.

Special mass will be held on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25 at 9 a.m., at St. John, in Hamilton and at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart, in Eureka.
