The “Question of the Week” for last week was: “If you could change a local, state or federal law, which would you change and why?”

Following are the responses: Matt Winn* - “Term limits for congress and once they have served they revert back to the same insurance and retirement as the working class.”

Brianne Vinson* - “Matt Winn, amen!”

Michelle Hamilton* “So many topics to choose from. Currently relevant topic….government shut down means congress goes without pay and it is distributed to federal EE’s until reopened.”

Lacy Christine* “Legalize cannabis in Kansas and allow farmers to grow, it would pay for our infrastructure and we know AG and would be great at it” Tyler Olsen* - “Do away with the 1934 National Firearms Act” Chris Hansel* - “Speed limit on stretches of open road much higher…” Benjamin Lewis* - “GET RID OF ALL PROPERTY TAXES. VEHICLE,HOME, TAGS ECT” Don Pennington* - “Stay on Standard Time.”

Wes Wunderlich* - “To vote you have to be a tax paying. Working person. If you don’t work or pay taxes and live off assistance and or programs. No vote” Lacy Christine* - “Wes Wunderlich so what about people on SSI that worked and are retired? They work their whole lives and barely have enough to live on with SSI and then have no say in government because they don’t make enough to pay taxes?”

Wes Wunderlich* - “You worked no issues it’s the ones that don’t or haven’t put in. Also you worked and expect to live off SS only. Terrible idea” Lacy Christine* - “Wes Wunderlich and not everyone especially in small towns even have an option to save even when working full time or may not even work for a company with the 401k option. We don’t live in a black and white society, there are too many gray areas to make blanket statements like yours. So people that are physically disabled and unable to work but cognitively sharp can also not vote?”

Wes Wunderlich* - “Lacy Christine I watched a guy with no hands no legs feet run a combine. He is providing. Disabled is a word” Lacy Christine* - “Wes Wunderlich that’s beautiful and not the entire point. One “disability” does not equal the other, there are more options/help for seen than unseen disabilities. No worries, I use to be a black and white thinker also. I appreciate the banter.”

Patty Voth* - “Do away with property sales tax so we don’t have to pay high price tags” Todd W Laney* “Taxation is theft. Abolish the personal property tax.”

Buddy Stitt* - “Instant Death to a murderer. Return cruel punishment to rapist.”

Michelle Stitt* - “Buddy Stitt and sexual predators who find the young “appealing” Freddy Stuber* - “I would declassify marijuana and reclassify it as a medical herb!”
