
Sharon Sue (Samuels) Lykins passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, Kansas, with loved ones by her side.
Sharon was born on January 17, 1946, in Eureka, Kansas, to John H. and Mary E. (Taylor) Samuels. She was one of eight siblings. Sharon graduated from Eureka High School in 1964, where she was head twirler and involved in several school clubs. She continued her education at Butler County Community College.
She went on to dedicate her life to her career as a beautician, sharing her talent and warmth with countless clients and friends over the years. Sharon also enjoyed being a member of a bowling league, where she formed many lasting friendships and cherished memories.
Sharon married Larry Norman on May 8, 1965. Larry and Sharon had one daughter, Nicole. The marriage later ended in divorce. Sharon then married Ron Lykins on February 6, 1998; he preceded her in death on August 9, 2022.
Sharon bravely battled different cancers throughout her life, facing each one with incredible strength and determination. Despite the challenges, she continued to live with grace, humor, and faith. She loved shopping on QVC, enjoyed monthly bunco nights, and always made time to have her nails done. Sharon cherished the simple pleasures in life and found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole; four grandchildren, Billy, Zelldin, Xalan, and Selphie; and a host of extended family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Mary E. Samuels; her husband, Ron; her sisters, Elwanda, Dorothy, Janice, and Mary Lou; and her brothers, Leon, Jack, and George.
Sharon’s love for her family and friends will live on through the many lives she touched.
