Junior High Wrestlers To Host Tournament This Thursday

Eureka Tornado junior high wrestlers competed at Chanute and Cherryvale last week, where the Tornadoes claimed 8 first place, 7 second place, and 4 third place finishes.

Following are the individual results for Eureka participants: Kent Frazell Invitational @ Chanute Girls 2025 116-125: Adleigh Ray placed 2nd. She won by fall over Olivia Sharp (Fort Scott Middle School) (Fall 1:54); won an 8-0 major decision over Harli Paris (Coffeyville); and lost a 3-19 tech fall to Lennox Gebara (Frontenac Jr. High).

Girls 2025 129-136: Alex Holbrook placed 4th. She lost by fall to Khloe Trester (Chanute JH) (Fall 2:13); lost by fall to Preslee Williams (Independence Middle School) (Fall 0:55); and lost by fall to Kiaya Wood (Fort Scott Middle School) (Fall 2:38).

Girls 2025 151-163: Lakyn McCoy placed 1st. She won by fall over Mondrea Fulcher (Coffeyville) (Fall 0:41); won by fall over Brista Lansdown (Chanute JH) (Fall 1:46); and won a 16-2 major decision over Madison Mitchell (Coffeyville).

Girls 2025 165-174: Brielle Thompson placed 1st. She won a 5-3 decision over Rylie Noble (Chanute JH); won a 7-0 decision over Takaijah Starr (Coffeyville); and won by fall over Kara Jordan (Chanute JH) (Fall 2:52).

Boys 2025 87-93: Cooper Wunderlich placed 2nd. He won by forfeit over Paxton Barnhart (Independence Middle School); lost by fall to Toryn Ellsworth (Chanute JH) (Fall 2:40); and won a 4-3 decision over Benyamin Kamel (Fort Scott Middle School).

Boys 2025 90-94: Brandon Cornett placed 1st. He won a 6-3 decision over Knox Holt (Fort Scott Middle School); won a 5-0 decision over Luke Weilert (Chanute JH); and won by fall over Gabrill Sammons (Girard) (Fall 1:43).

Boys 2025 127-132: Marcus Clark placed 1st. He won an 8-5 decision over Lucas Jones (Chanute JH); won a 7-4 decision in sudden victory - 1 over Ayden Peyton (Independence Middle School); and won by forfeit over Matthew Holding (Iola).

Boys 2025 130-132: Marcus Pearce placed 2nd. He lost by fall to Dreysen Wilson (Parsons Middle School) (Fall 2:36); won by fall over Eva Boeker (Iola) (Fall 1:42); and won by fall over Moses Durand (Chanute JH) (Fall 0:30).

Boys 2025 133-145: Felix Neill placed 3rd. He lost by fall to Milo Franklin (Iola) (Fall 0:28); won by forfeit over Avante Kendrex (Coffeyville); and lost by fall to John Fogle (Chanute JH) (Fall 2:22).

Boys 2025 148-151: Noah Everly-Burtin placed 3rd. He won by fall over Maleki Keller (Chanute JH) (Fall 0:25); lost a 1-12 major decision to Henry Mendoza (Coffeyville); and lost by fall to Caleb Stanley (Fort Scott Middle School) (Fall 0:50).

Boys 2025 175-187: Jackson Hobbs placed 4th. He lost a 0-7 decision to Elijah Parker (Chanute JH); lost by fall to Daegan Rodriguez (Iola) (Fall 0:38); and lost by fall to Ayden Sales (Coffeyville) (Fall 0:28).

Cherryvale MS Boys 88-95: Brandon Cornett placed 3rd. He lost a 3-6 decision to Luke Neal (Bluestem); and won a 6-0 decision over Logan Jabben (Caney).

MS Boys 89-96: Cooper Wunderlich placed 2nd. He won by fall over Arthur McGrew (Cherryvale); and lost by fall to Theodore Seel (Independence).

MS Boys 128-135: Felix Neill placed 2nd. He won by fall over Lane Wheatley (Caney) and lost by fall to Wyatt Boss (Fredonia).

MS Boys 132-136: Marcus Clark placed 1st. He won by fall over Gage Suckstorf (Cherryvale); and won a 5-4 decision over Cater Wiles (Galesburg).

MS Boys 143-151: Noah Everly-Burtin placed 1st. He won by fall over Izaac Cruse (Humboldt) and won a 6-1 decision over Henry Mendoza (Coffeyville).

MS Boys 180-195: Jackson Hobbs placed 3rd. He lost a 2-3 decision to Ely Joyce (Cherryvale) and lost by fall to Carson Bailey (Independence).

MS Girls 116-126: Adleigh Ray placed 1st. She won a 10-0 major decision over Aleigha Sicka (Fredonia) and won by fall over Harli Paris (Coffeyville).

MS Girls 126-130: Alex Holbrook placed 3rd. She lost by fall to Rayne Boomershine (Coffeyville); and lost by fall to Madyson Rush (Caney).

MS Girls 147-155: Lakyn McCoy placed 1st. She won by fall over Taryn Clay (Neodesha); and won by fall over Aaliyah Morris (Coffeyville).

MS Girls 171-186: Brielle Thompson placed 3rd. She won by fall over Soniyah Davis (Coffeyville); and lost a 4-8 decision to Savanah Johnson (Coffeyville). Up Next Eureka will conclude their season this week with their home tournament on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m. and traveling to Coffeyville on Friday, Nov. 21, at 3:30 p.m.
