Eureka Garden Club

The Eureka Garden Club met on Nov. 7 at TNT Catering for lunch at 11:30 a.m.

After lunch, President Vicki Holladay called the meeting to order and expressed appreciation to Desiree Craig and Patricia Soule for being the hostesses.

Secretary Sheila Hughes read the minutes of the last meeting.

Treasurer Sue McDonald gave the treasurer’s report.

Cammie Wilson gave a report on the Mini Garden. She and her granddaughter will be doing the winter garden clean-up.

A Chinese gift exchange will be the program for the December meeting.

Donations will be made to Emprise Bank for the Adopt-A-Child Christmas gifts.

Craig gave a very informative and inspiring talk about the United States military in honor of Veterans Day. She told about the six branches of the military, and each one’s flower and motto. Space Force is the newest branch, with the Army the oldest and largest. Door prizes were given to the ladies who answered the most questions about the military.

Kathy Jackson won a beautiful flower arrangement made up of the six military flowers.

Hughes won a jar of whipped honey. All members were able to choose a flower representing a branch of the military.

Next month’s hostesses will be Rise Russin and Holladay. The meeting will be at TNT catering on Dec. 12.

The meeting was adjourned by standing and repeating “The Gardener’s Creed.”
