Joey Caylor

Joseph “Joey” Calvin Caylor, III, 50, of Eureka, died unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at his home in Eureka.

He was born on Nov. 6, 1974, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the son of Joseph Calvin Caylor, Jr. and Loretta Louise (Partridge) Caylor. He was raised in Colorado.

During his high school years, the family moved to Kansas, and he graduated from Eureka High School. Soon after, he went to work for the county.

On Oct. 1, 1995, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Marie Morris in Eureka. To this union, two children were born. This marriage later ended in divorce.

He spent many years working for the City of Eureka on both the Street Department and the Water Department. Outside of his family, his life centered on his career and his time as a dedicated volunteer for the Eureka Fire Department.

In the late 2010s, Joey began a new chapter of his life with Shay Kane. The couple welcomed one son together.

He is survived by his partner, Shay Kane; his children: Vanessa Caylor of Newberry, Fla.; Colton Caylor of El Dorado; and Nicholas Caylor of El Dorado; and his adopted siblings: Randy Frisbee, Renee Frisbee, Robert Frisbee, and Raymond Frisbee, all of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been effected. While no services are planned at this time, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Koup Family Funeral Home is overseeing arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family online at koupfunerals. com.
