The 38th annual National field trials came to an end recently as braces for the German Shorthair Pointer Club of America (GSPCA) National Field Trial were held at the Bechtel Ranch from Oct. 13-27.
The GSPCA began coming to Eureka in 1988 and braces were held at the Christian Hills Camp in Eureka until 2002. Since then, the braces have continued to run the national event in Greenwood County, at the Bechtel Ranch.
Following are the results for this year’s contests: Open Gun Dog Championship
1st Place - “Gin”, Chisholm Creek’s Speak Easy, Owner/ Handler Mark Wasserman 2nd Place - “Ruby”, Cutter’s Ignited Hustler, Handler Keith Gulledge, Owner William Creason 3rd Place - “Dixie”, Dunfur’s Tuff Dixie the Third, Handler Dan Hoke, Owners Matt & Nicole Solt 4th Place “Blue”, Dunfur’s Big Timber, Handler Dan Hoke, Owners Mark & Lynn Lund JAMs - O’B’s Stick in the Mud & Hunt’em Up’s Aim to Impress The trial ended Sunday evening.
Next year’s National Field Trial should begin Monday, October 12, 2026. See you there!
