Patriots Hosted Northern Heights For Week 9

The West Elk Patriots were outmatched last Thursday, Oct. 30, during week 9 as they hosted Northern Heights.

“Northern Heights out played us in all facets of the game,” stated head coach Ian Denton. “Heights jumped on us early and we never recovered. It’s disappointing to end the year with a loss,” he continued.

The Patriots lost the game 6-52, with their lone score coming from a 6-yard run by Jaxson Bodgahn.

“The season didn’t go like we hoped it would. We faced a lot of adversity with injuries to an already inexperienced team. I’m not sure we started the same eight guys in backto- back games all season.

Despite our record and struggles, we gained real, valuable experience. We know that we need to get bigger, faster and stronger in the offseason and we need to continue to build our confidence, culture and the leadership within our team. We are excited about our future, and we will get started working toward next year immediately,” stated Coach Denton.
