Brubaker Named Business Woman Of The Month

The Eureka Businesswomen met on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at TNT Catering in Eureka. There were 13 members and one guest present. The guest was Anneliese Brubaker who was the businesswoman of the month and program for the evening. Roll call was answered with “What are you going to dress up as for Halloween?”

Minutes of the last meeting were given and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given and approved as read.

Correspondence was discussed. The group is having the annual Bake Sale fundraiser, that is used for scholarships, on Saturday Nov. 8 at the Racetrack (Greenwood County Community Center). The signup sheet for baked goods was passed around. A motion was made by Tammi Burtin and seconded by Diana Cole to have 2 baskets totaling $50 for the Dalton Evenson Fundraiser Silent Auction. The club voted and passed. The group is going to participate in the Dalton Evenson Fundraiser Silent Auction at Pizza Hut on Oct. 13. The club donated two baskets, one adult “Pamper Yourself” basket and a child fun basket.

Brubaker was presented with a certificate. She is currently employed at the Eureka Public Library as the librarian. She is an artist first. She is married to Dakota. They met while attending college at Emporia State University. They currently reside in Eureka. Brubaker was a teacher and taught in Yates Center for six years.

Brubaker presented the program for the evening. She spoke of several activities that are currently happening at Eureka Public Library. They have Book Munch Club, Tikes Time Classes, Halloween Family Movie Night, October Crafternoon, BINGO and Halloween Story Hour scheduled for the month of October. The library also has the following items available to the public: 3D printer, Cricut machine, Heat press, DVD check out and cake pan check out. Brubaker reports that she is open to ideas for the library also. Brubaker handed out fliers to the club for the October activities. Lois Stewart, Burtin and Audra Hemingway were given the door prizes.

The club sang Happy Birthday to Janet and Wade who had October birthdays.

Hostesses for the evening were Mary Ann Thornton and Vicki French.

The club closed with the Club Collect.
