The Madison/Virgil USD 386 board of education meets on the second Monday of each month. The following report was generated from the unofficial minutes, which are subject to board approval.
President Dallas Luthi called the Oct. 13 USD 386 Board of Education meeting to order at 7 p.m. Roll call was answered by Jennifer Watts, Justin Isch, Amy Hind, Jannette Luthi, Dallas Luthi and Ty Gaines. Also attending were Dallas Woolf, Kristy Johnson, Amanda Schild, Jenn Boles, Gavin Isch, Carla Davis and Marcie Harrison.
Watts mentioned how nice the turnout was of students at the Veteran’s funeral service on Saturday.
Woolf recognized Schild for all of her work organizing “family day.”
The board approved for USD 386 funding for tickets and meals for the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.
The board also approved building a handicap accessible sidewalk to the Ag building; the Unbound Gravel Fundraiser Proposal as presented; eligibility policy modification as presented; the BOE meeting times to 6 p.m.; a District Calendar modification to change the Senior Graduation time to 12 p.m.; the September regular board meeting minutes and the agenda, with updates, as well as the business by consent.
Information items discussed were FTE numbers on count day, KESA, State Assessment scores, CTE Pathway Proposals, Job Descriptions, and KSDE District reports.
Principal Schild and Superintendent Woolf gave updates.
The board held a five minute executive session to discuss personnel matters (no justification was included). No action was taken.
The meeting adjourned at 8:58 p.m.
