Eureka Garden Club

The Eureka Garden Club met on Oct. 3 at TNT Catering for lunch at 11:30 a.m. After lunch, Carol Ann Flock gave an informative talk on how to prepare flowers and gardens for winter. She also told of natural remedies to use on spiders, wood bees, and mud daubers.

Vice-President Rise Russin called the meeting to order and expressed appreciation to Flock for the useful information. She also expressed appreciation to Flock and Mary Ann Thornton for being the hostesses.

There were 12 members present.

Sheila Hughes read the minutes of the last meeting and Sue McDonald gave the treasurer’s report.

After the Nov. 7 meeting, the club will adjourn to the Mini Garden to do the fall clean-up.

Pumpkin door prizes were won by Cheryl Sowder and Marilyn Seymour.

The hostess for November will be Desiree Craig and Patricia Soule.

The meeting was adjourned by standing and repeating “The Gardener’s Creed.”
