Lady Tornadoes Hosted Final Home Matches On Senior Night

Six Lady Tornado seniors “signed out” from their home volleyball court last Tuesday, Oct. 14 after hosting their final home matches.

Eureka hosted Cherryvale and Humboldt during the annual senior night event.

The Lady Tornadoes defeated Cherryvale, 25-20, 25-13. Eureka tallied 5 ace serves, 14 kills, 3 blocks, 14 assists and 44 digs.

Eureka’s junior varsity (JV) team defeated Cherryvale 25-17, 25-19. The Tornado C-team fell to the Chargers, 6-25, 13-25.

Against Humboldt, the varsity Tornadoes fell 11-25 and 20-25. Eureka recorded 2 ace serves, 10 kills, 2 blocks, 10 assists and 39 digs. Eureka’s JV team fell to the Cubs 20-25 and 1525. @ Neodesha

Eureka volleyball traveled to Neodesha on Oct. 16 for action against the Bluestreaks and the Blue Devils of Sedan Against Sedan, the Lady Tornadoes claimed the win, 25-4 and 25-18. Eureka recorded 11 ace serves, 21 kills, 2 blocks, 21 assists and 31 digs. The Tornadoes JV team lost in three, 18-25, 25-11, 10-15.

Against Neodesha, the Lady Tornadoes fell 17-25, 20-25. Eureka recorded 2 assists, 6 kills, 3 blocks, 3 assists and 19 digs. The JV Ladies lost 9-25, 12-25. Eureka’s C-team fell 9-25, 8-25.

Eureka concluded regular season play with a 14-18 overall record.

They began post season play on Monday of this week (Oct. 20), in Humboldt. The Ladies were scheduled to face Humboldt, Erie and Belle Plaine. The top 2 teams from the Regionals will advance to Sub-State action on Saturday, Oct. 25.
