Buck Crowned TVL Champion At Neodesha

The Tri-Valley League (TVL) Cross Country meet held in Neodesha brought exciting results for local runners, highlighted by a championship performance from Senior Rose Buck. Buck dominated the varsity girls’ race, crossing the finish line first with a time of 19:58.20, earning the title of TVL Champion.

Fellow senior Britta Mongeau also had a strong showing, capturing third place with a time of 22:55.70. Rounding out the girls’ team, Elyssa Wood placed 23rd at 30:35.40, and Reata Bogle followed closely behind in 26th at 31:31.00. Their collective efforts led the girls’ team to a second-place tie in the overall team standings.

In the varsity boys’ division, Tavin Austin finished 22nd with a time of 22:53.84, and Brayden Buck came in 29th at 25:27.61, representing the team with determination on the challenging course.

At the junior high level, Blake Wells had a 6th place finish in the 2-mile race, clocking in at 14:56.10. Owen Combs secured 11th place at 16:51.60, and Henry Lindamood followed in 13th with a time of 17:12.10.

The team now sets its sights on the Regional Cross Country meet next Saturday, Oct. 25 at Wichita Trinity, where they hope to continue their strong postseason run. The girls will run at 10 a.m., with the boys following at 11:10 a.m. The top 3 teams and the top 15 individuals qualify for state.
