To Make Lead Soloist and Demi-Soloist Debuts In “Nutcracker”

Sian Alizabeth Ball will make her lead soloist and demi-solist debut appearances in Ballet Midwest’s 49th Nutcracker on Dec. 12-14, at Topeka Performing Arts, in Topeka.

Ball was sel ected through auditions to dance the lead soloist role of Columbine in the Party scene and the demi- soloist role of Polichinelle in the Land of the Sweets scene. After taking a brief break, Ball is making her return to the stage as an Alumni Ballet Midwest Company member. She has previously danced for directors from Ballet Vero Beach, Fla., and American Midwest Ballet, Neb. As well as directors from France, Belgium, England, and Holland. Ball is currently taking dance classes at Barbara’s Conservatory of Dance in Topeka while pursuing a degree in Psychology and legal studies with a focus on legal and forensic psychology.

Ball is also the creator of Sian’s Custom Sweets and Gifts VIPs.

She is the daughter of Kimberly Merrill, of Topeka; the granddaughter of Joe and Shirley Drake, Eureka and niece of Tammy and Kelly Drake of Eureka.
