The West Elk Patriots will kick off the 2025 Fall Homecoming celebration on Friday, Oct. 10, at 3 p.m., with the Homecoming Parade that will take place on Wabash Street in front of Family Market, Howard State Bank, and Commerce Bank, in Howard. The West Elk Booster Club will begin serving its annual Tailgate Supper at 5:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., the West Elk Patriot football team will host Sedan. Finally, the Homecoming Ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the football game. This year’s fall Homecoming theme is “West Elk Got Game,” with “Love is a Game” by Adele being this year’s homecoming song.
Dress up days for the Patriots include: Tuesday, Oct. 7 - Chess; Dress as Royalty; Wednesday, Oct. 8 - Game of Life; Career Day; Thursday, Oct. 9 - Sorry! Color War; Seniors- blue, Juniors-red, Sophomores -yellow, Freshmen- green, teachers-wild card; and Friday, Oct. 10 - Battle Ship; Red, White, and Blue.
