A Greenwood County Sheriff’s Sergeant received minor injuries on Saturday, Oct. 4, shortly after 10 p.m. when his vehicle struck a cow in the roadway, while responding to another incident near Madison.
According to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Mike Cordell was operating a 2024 Dodge Durango and traveling eastbound on US 54 Highway when the vehicle struck a cow in the roadway, approximately a half a mile east of the Eureka city limits.
The original incident was then referred to the Kansas Highway Patrol. As of Monday morning, additional details were unavailable.
