The first monthly meeting for the 20252026 year of the Eureka Garden Club was held on Friday, Sept. 5, at Melinda Nichols’ “She Shed.” Lunch was served by TNT Catering. After lunch, Vicki Holladay called the meeting to order and expressed appreciation to Nichols and Cheryl Sowder for being the hostesses. There were 12 members present. Sheila Hughes read the minutes of the May meeting and Sue McDonald gave the treasurer’s report. There was discussion about the Mini Garden clean-up before Cattlemen’s Day. Door prizes were garden flags won by Loria Howard and Cammie Wilson. Next month’s hostesses will be Carol Ann Flock and Mary Ann Thornton. The meeting was adjourned by standing and repeating “The Gardener’s Creed.”
After the meeting, the members had a wonderful tour of Nichols and Sowder’s flower gardens. Members enjoyed seeing all the different plants, colors, and how the pots and beds were put together along with all the added decorations to make them even more special. The tour was enjoyed by all and was an exciting and enjoyable beginning to the club’s new year.
