We are still looking for consistency and we still need to improve our execution, but this was a step in the right direction,” he continued. He went on to credit the Patriot student-athletes who are committed to working and improving.

“Securing our first victory of the season will boost the team's confidence and morale. We are playing many young and inexperienced players, having some success is valuable and gives us something to build on. We will need to continue to improve each and every day to give ourselves a chance in a very competitive district,” stated Coach Denton.

West Elk will travel to CedarVale/ Dexter this Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. The Patriots will then host Sedan on Friday, Oct. 10 for their Homecoming event. Additional details will be included in next week’s edition.
