Eureka varsity volleyball traveled to Marais des Cygnes Valley (MdCV) last Thursday, Sept. 25, for triangular action against MdCV and Cair Paraval.
Eureka went 0-2 on the evening, moving their overall record to 8-12.
The Lady Tornadoes fell 12-25 and 13-25 to MdCV. Eureka tallied 1 ace serve, 7 attacks, 2 blocks, 7 assists and 36 digs. Eureka battled Cair Paraval to three sets, but lost the match 27-25, 16-25 and 18-25. The Tornadoes recorded 3 ace serves, 26 attacks, 3 blocks, 24 assists and 69 digs. The Lady Tornado junior varsity team battled Cair Paravel in five sets.
Eureka fell 2-3: 17-25, 2523, 20-25, 25-10 and 11-15.
Last Monday, Sept. 22, the C-team Lady Tornadoes traveled to Neodesha for a quad against Erie, Cherryvale and Neodesha. Eureka went 0-3 for the day, falling to Erie 17-25 and 20-25; falling to Neodesha 18-25 and 5-25 and to Cherryvale, 19-25, 25-23 and 8-15.
Eureka will travel to Fredonia on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 5 p.m., to face Fredonia and Iola; and again on Oct. 6 to face Fredonia and Altoona-Midway. The Lady Tornadoes junior varsity will travel to Rosalia for the Flinthills Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 9 a.m.
