Lady Tornado seniors Rose Buck and Britta Mongeau claimed hardware last Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Marion Cross Country Invitational.

Buck claimed first place honors in the girls varsity 5K, completing the race with a time of 19:40.52. Lady Tornado Mongeau claimed fifth place with a time of 21:09.36.

In the girls junior varsity 2-mile race, Lady Tornado Amorette Guillaume finished in 18th place with a time of 31:06.57 and Eureka’s Reata Bogle finished in 19th place with a time of 31:13.37.

In the boys junior varsity 2-mile race, Luc Guillaume finished in 24th place with a time of 22:54.94 and Brayden Buck placed 36th with a time of 25:36.55.

Eureka was also represented in the varsity boys 5K race by J.P. Guillaume, 60th place, 21:09.84; and Tavin Austin, 86th place, 24:04.10.

In the junior high division, Eureka was represented: in the 7th grade boys 1-mile race by Blake Wells, 27th, 7:09.01 and Owen Combs, 41st, 7:51.56; and in the 8th grade boys 2-mile race by Sebastian Guillaume, 15th, 13:28.64; and Henry Lindamood, 43rd, 17:32.25.

Tornado Cross Country is scheduled to travel to Central Heights on Thursday, Oct. 2, beginning at 4 p.m. before hosting their annual invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 3:45 p.m.
