Two Team Plaques And Seven Individual Awards Claimed By Greenwood County 4-H Archers

Greenwood County once again returned home with the team compound trophies for both bowhunter and open divisions.

Eureka’s Chason Gulick and Camden Wunderlich completed both contests with a combined score of 622 to claim first place honors as a team, on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Results for the top five individuals and top team (2-members) were shared Saturday evening, however, complete results weren’t available at the time of publication.

In senior bowhunter, Wunderlich shot a 233 on FITA to place 2nd, shot a 194 in 3D/Trail to place 2nd and claimed 1st place overall. Gulick shot a 232 in FITA to place 4th, shot a 191 in 3D to place 3rd and claimed 3rd place overall. Will Davis also competed in the division, shooting a 227 in FITA and 146 in 3D.

In senior open, Gulick shot a 231 in FITA to place 5th, shot a 197 in 3D to place 3rd and claimed 3rd place overall. Wunderlich shot a 233 in FITA to place 3rd, shot a 190 in 3D and placed 5th overall. Davis shot a 225 in FITA and 153 in 3D.

Also representing Greenwood County were: Noah Everly-Burtin and Ruger Schouten.

Everly-Burtin, who competed in junior bowhunter, shot a 174 in FITA and 112 in 3D.

Schouten, who competed in junior barebow, shot a 156 in FITA and 134 in 3D.

Wunderlich (10th Grade), Davis (9th Grade) and Ev-erly-Burtin (7th Grade) are students at Eureka Junior/ Senior High School.

Schouten is a sixth grader at Marshall Elementary School in Eureka.

Gulick is a sophomore at Gulick Academy.

Greenwood County has claimed 14 top three team finishes since they began the program in 2017. Team scores are selected from the top two shooters from a given county, meaning they can be from either the senior or junior divisions. Team honors are awarded to compound shooters in both the bowhunter and open divisions; as well as Recurve shooters in both the barebow and olympic divisions. Greenwood County has claimed a top 3 team finish in bowhunter and open classes from 2019-2025. First place honors were claimed by: Wylee Boulanger and Kolby Beitz (open), 2019; W. Boulanger and Andrew Westerman (bowhunter) 2021; W. Boulanger and Barrett Pirtle (open) 2021; W. Boulanger and Gulick (bowhunter) 2022; W. Boulanger and Gulick (bowhunter) 2023; W. Boulanger and Wunderlich (bowhunter) 2024; and Gulick and Wunderlich (bowhunter and open) 2025.
