Homecoming festivities for Eureka Junior/Senior High School will begin on Monday of next week as spirit week kicks off.
Spirit days for Homecoming week, Sept. 29-Oct. 3, follow the theme “Homecoming, Here We Go Again (from the movie Mama Mia).” Monday: The Night is Young- Wear PJ’s; Tuesday: Welcome to Greek Life- Fraternity vs Sorority; Wednesday: Lei All Your Love on Me- Hawaiian; Thursday: Greek Mythology: Togas (must be school appropriate) or White Out; Friday: Winner Takes it All- Wear Red and Blue.
Homecoming royalty, voted on by students in grades nine through twelve, was announced last week. The crown bearers for this year’s event are Jayce Baumgartel and Hope Perrier, first graders at Marshall Elementary School.
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the community is invited to attend a special pep rally, that will include a Powder Puff football game, Homecoming candidate games, a jersey auction and a bonfire. The event is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
A special assembly will be held at 1:15 p.m., next Friday, where the King and Queen will be crowned. The EHS class of 1976 will be recognized. The annual parade will follow at approximately 2 p.m. This year’s Grand Marshals are Tom and Carolyn Perrier.
The Eureka Tornado football team will take on Bluestem on Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. To conclude the Homecoming festivities, a dance for high school students will be held from 9:30-11:30 p.m.
