The Greenwood County Historical Society invites the public to a special 5th Monday presentation on Monday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. Tom Prasch of Topeka and Washburn University will discuss World’s Fairs and how new innovations introduced at World’s Fairs have changed food, architecture, engineering, and other significant parts of our lives. Even though Kansas has never hosted a World’s Fair, Prasch will share legacies of those fairs that exist in Kansas.
The program will be held at the Greenwood County Museum, located at 120 W. 4th Street, in Eureka and is free to attend. Contact the Greenwood Count Historical Society at 6205883-6682 for more information.
“World’s Fair Remnants in Kansas” is part of Humanities Kansas’s Speakers Bureau, featuring humanities-based presentations designed to share stories that inspire, spark conversations that inform, and generate insights that strengthen civic engagement.
