Tornado Volleyball Competed At Marion Tournament; Defeated Douglass

The Eureka Lady Tornado volleyball team traveled to Marion last Saturday, Sept. 20 for their annual tournament. Eureka went 1-3 at the tournament, claiming a win over Douglass. Eureka first faced Central Christian Academy, where they fell in two sets, 19-25 and 14-25. The Tornadoes recorded 3 ace serves, 9 kills, 6 blocks, 7 assists and 22 digs.

The Tornadoes also fell in two sets to Halstead, 6-25 and 12-25. The Tornadoes recorded 1 ace serve, 3 kills, 2 blocks, 3 assists and 11 digs.

Eureka then challenged Marion in three sets, but fell 25-19, 13-25 and 13--25. The Tornadoes recorded 7 ace serves, 17 kills, 4 blocks, 16 assists and 46 digs.

In their final match, the Tornadoes claimed a threeset match over the Bulldogs of Douglass. Eureka won 20-25, 25-23 and 25-19. The Lady Tornadoes recorded 7 ace serves, 21 kills, 3 blocks, 20 assists and 69 digs.

Eureka is scheduled to travel to Marais Des Cygnes Valley this Thursday, Sept. 25 for action against MdCV and Cair Paravell Latin School. The Tornadoes will then host C&D quads on Monday, Sept. 29, against Marion, Olpe and Burlington.
