Hamilton City Council

The Hamilton City Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month. The following report was generated from the unofficial minutes, which are subject to board approval.

The Hamilton City Council held their regular meeting on Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. followed by the flag salute. The council approved the bills and the minutes from the previous meeting and heard the library report.

In New Business, the council approved to hold a special meeting on Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. to include tower issues, city clerk’s report on upcoming events, roll-off dumpster update, library charter ordinance discussion, budget details and water system improvement updates.

Discussion was held regarding the 2026 proposed budget of $370,659 and the 2026 proposed mill levy of 75,.869. The budget hearing will be published in August and the budget hearing will be held in September.

A 10-minute executive session was held with council members Larry Walford, Joe Beeman, Rodney Dimick and Christopher Ray including City Clerk Daphne Rayburn and Superintendent Robert Ryan to discuss budget details. After returning to open session, discussion was tabled until the Aug. 26 meeting.

Reports were heard from Clerk Rayburn and Superintendent Ryan. Council concerns were also discussed.

The next regular meeting of the Hamilton City Council will be held on Sept. 9 at 6 p.m.
