What do the initials “HB” on a pencil stand for?

Last Thursday, Sept 11, Tsgt Hall’s remains were flown into Wichita's Eisen hower Airport and transported to Wickham Funeral Home in Fredonia. Me, Sandy, Taco and Punky drove down to Fredonia to watch the procession come to town. Never before had either of us witnessed the repatriation of an American soldiers remains.
It was really moving to see, not only all (50) the motorcyclists on their bikes and trikes, but the number of people who were stopped along the way showing their respect for the fallen hero. We were stopped in the driveway of the former Fredonia Recycling Center. While sitting there waiting on the procession, a pickup pulled up and asked why there were so many vehicles parked alongside the highway. He said he had come from the west and noticed every turnoff had vehicles parked at them. Sandy explained to him what was going on. About five minutes later a woman in a van pulled in and asked the same question and said the same thing as the man.
I heard something kind of neat while watching the CBS news the other night; after talking about the shooting of Charlie Kirk and all the hatred in our country, Maurice DeBois said, “A wise man once told him, ‘It’s hard to hate face to face.’” Social media has made it super easy to hate and be a bully online. One can’t help but wonder how much of the online bullying would take place if they were to meet face-to-face instead of online.
Answer: The degree of hardness of a pencil is printed on the pencil. The degrees of hardness of pencils are roughly divided into four groups: B stands for “black.” These pencils are soft. H stands for “hard.” HB stands for “hard black,” which means “medium hard." F stands for "firm."
Sometimes the alphabetic characters are preceded by numbers. They make an even more precise statement about the degree of hardness or color intensity of the pencil. The higher the number, the harder, softer, or blacker the pencil is.
The Annual Toronto Alumni Banquet and meeting will be Saturday, Oct. 4, with doors opening at 11 a.m. and the meal to be served at noon, followed by the business meeting.

A massive fire, of un known origin, totally destroyed a house on 50th Road heading towards Lake Fegan. The house, for many years, was owned by Paul States.
